The film is about the protagonist’s aversion to a love marriage, that is not shared by the heroine, his neighbour.

Lakshmipathy falls in love with his sister’s daughter, Dhanalakshmi. But when an astrologer predicts that Lakshmipathy will die when he marries Dhanalakshmi, his sister cancels the wedding.
